- The candidate MUST have studied communications, journalism, public relations, media or any other similar subject at the master’s level;
- The candidate must show relevant experience in the work of communications and preferably, public/ media relations.
- Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent); OR have recently graduatedwith a university degree and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one-year period of graduation.
AVAILABILITY
You must be available for a minimum of 4-6 months, from mid-February 2019 onwards. Please indicate in the application form (full instructions on how to apply below), which dates you are available for. Candidates who are available on a full-time basis (40 hours a week) will be given a preference.
LANGUAGE
- Fluent in spoken and written English (Spanish, Arabic or French is a plus)
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral) in English are required;
Interns are not financially remunerated by UN Women.

- Scanned medical insurance document/ proof of health insurance

UN Women Internship Policy:
- Applicants to the United Nations internship programme must at the time of application meet one of the following requirements:
- Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);

- Have graduated with a university degree (as above) and, if selected, must commence the internship within one year.
- UN Women internship programme does not provide a salary or remuneration for the internship;
- All the expenses connected with the internship will be borne by the intern, sponsoring Government or institution;
- UN Women accepts no responsibility for costs arising from accidents and/or illness or death incurred during the internship;
- The intern is responsible for obtaining necessary visas and arranging travel to and from the duty station where the internship will be performed;
- The intern must provide proof of enrollment in a health insurance plan, proof of school enrollment, a scanned copy of his/her passport, two letters of recommendation, and application.
